Genealogy Collection and Historic Material Donation Policy
The Jonesborough Genealogical Society is an all-volunteer organization. We partner with the Washington County Public Library – Jonesborough Branch to add donated genealogy collections to the library’s Genealogy and History Collection. JGS can help coordinate the transfer, storage, and integration of approved donation materials. Our member volunteers will work with the library staff to add loose paper documents to the vertical files, digitize items as appropriate, and add to the appropriate index databases. To learn more about the research resources currently available, visit the Jonesborough Library’s Genealogy and Local History webpage.
JGS can help facilitate donations of approved items having historical significance to the northeast Tennessee area through our partnerships with local heritage groups and museums. We understand the importance of preserving our history and using historic items to educate our community about past events.
