The Jonesborough Genealogical Society, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was created in 1990 to foster interest in preserving family history.Â
January thru October, the Jonesborough Genealogical Society hosts monthly Genealogy Days with featured speakers or group visits to local attractions, Quarterly Genealogy Workshops, and Genealogy Help Nights on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Friday, July 3rd & Saturday, July 4th from 10 am to 10 pm - Jonesborough Days in Historic Downtown Jonesborough, TN. Visit the Jonesborough Days webpage or Facebook Page for more information. The Heritage Alliance of Northeast Tennessee & Southwest Virginia will be sponsoring Heritage Park on the Christopher Taylor House lawn with activities for everyone! To volunteer at Heritage Park, contact The Heritage Alliance.
Thursday, July 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm - Genealogy Help Night at the Washington County Public Library, 200 Sabin Drive, Jonesborough hosted by the Jonesborough Genealogical Society. Whether a beginner or an advanced researcher, bring your research and questions. JGS volunteers will be available to answer questions and help you find research resources. This event is free and open to the public.
Saturday, July 25th from 10:00 to 11:00 am - Genealogy Day at the Washington County Public Library, 200 Sabin Drive, Jonesborough hosted by the Jonesborough Genealogical Society. Story Collecting with Anne Mason. Join us to learn tips and best practices for collecting and preserving family stories.
