The Jonesborough Genealogical Society, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was created in 1990 to foster interest in preserving family history.
January thru October, the Jonesborough Genealogical Society hosts monthly Genealogy Days with featured speakers or group visits to local attractions, Quarterly Genealogy Workshops, and Genealogy Help Nights on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Saturday, September 6th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm - HERITAGE FAIR. The Jonesborough Genealogical Society, in partnership with other regional heritage organizations, will host the 6th Annual Heritage Fair. The Heritage Fair’s purpose is to bring local heritage to the public through various regional heritage related groups gathering for a common cause. This event has multiple aspects that when brought together offer an engaging and educational experience for all ages.
Thursday, September 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm - Genealogy Help Night at the Washington County Public Library, 200 Sabin Drive, Jonesborough hosted by the Jonesborough Genealogical Society. Whether a beginner or an advanced researcher, bring your research and questions. JGS volunteers will be available to answer questions and help you find research resources. This event is free and open to the public.
